Closeup and inflight photos of the new eCombat plane. If you have been thinking about joining us for combat, but did not want to fly a glow plane, now there is an alternative.
Thanks and photo credit to Lee R.
After a little R&D, I can now enter our monthly combat without learning to run glow engines.
Getting Ready to Launch
Launch prep for the eCombat plane is almost boring...launch all the glow planes, plug in the battery, and then...
...throttle up and let go.
Overhand release/ slight toss to get going.
The plane has greater than a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio making for easy launches (except for the torque roll) and unlimited vertical.
eCombat Plane in Flight
Plane Loves the Wind
This plane is now in contention with the modified Parkzone T-28 for my favorite windy day plane.
Combat Plane with Yaw Control
The eCombat plane has Ruddervators, so I can use the rudder on this plane. It does stall turns quite well.
You guessed correctly, I'm not showing you the ground contact because I bounced it on landing.
